Happy Easter!
I hope everyone has been well fed with chocolate eggs, cream eggs, easter egg flavoured ice cream…and all that.
Well..I would
My german colleague was telling me about her experience with kilts in rome the weekend before. 6-nations rugby, Scotland v. Italy. So Rome was full of groups of kilted men. While lunching in a pizza parlour, her german friend asked the kilted Scotsman on the table next to them..
“what do you wear underneath that kilt?”
And he stood up, lifted up his kilt and showed her. Sat back down and they all continued their meal.
Which afterwards led me to wonder out loud if when I visited the Scottish Crown Jewels in Edinburgh Castle, there would be in the exhibition area; a single solitary scotsman. Confused, I’d ask; “Where are the crown jewels?” and he would lift up his kilt…
Dumb jokes aside, I really had a good time this long weekend. From eating haggis (yummy with ‘nips and tatties), scottish beer, walking on the Royal Mile, doing the Whiskey Factory tour (1 guy got drunk just from inhaling the whiskey vapours..no joke), big breakfast at Elephant Cafe (of JK Rowling fame), cruising the Loch Ness, taking in the beauty of the snowy Scottish Highlands, Edinburgh Castle, listening to stories of Jacobites’ war stories (history of Scotland), the beautifully modern Scottish Parliament..
and most of all…
freezing myself into a little asian popsicle. Scotland is cold!!
I hope everyone had a good easter
